New Jersey Therapist Providing LGBTQIA+ Affirming, Trauma-Informed Therapy

Psychotherapy With Cole

Are you experiencing racing thoughts, emotional ups and downs, relationship stress, or questions about identity? I get how that can make life feel heavy and confusing.
Hi, I’m Cole, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy in New Jersey for teens and adults. I help people understand patterns beneath the surface, make sense of their emotions and relationships, and support meaningful, lasting change. I’m deeply affirming of LGBTQIA+ individuals and show up as a real person in the room, bringing both clinical training and lived experience into a collaborative, human approach to therapy.

My Approaches to Therapy

I offer Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT-Informed skills, psychodynamic therapy, schema therapy, LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma-informed care for teens and adults across New Jersey. These approaches are integrated based on your needs! See below for more information on the modalities I use.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT focuses on building awareness of thoughts and emotions while developing greater flexibility in how you respond to them. Together, we work toward making choices that align with your values, even in the presence of difficult feelings.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns shape current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach emphasizes insight, self-understanding, and the meaning behind recurring emotional or relational themes.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a skills-based therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and improve relationships. It focuses on building practical skills like emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and effective communication.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

I provide affirming, respectful care for LGBTQIA+ individuals, with attention to identity development, minority stress, and the unique challenges that can arise in families, relationships, and broader social contexts.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care emphasizes safety, collaboration, and respect for each client’s pace. This approach recognizes how trauma and chronic stress can impact emotions, relationships, and coping, and prioritizes creating a therapeutic space that feels grounded, empowering, and supportive.

Schema Therapy

Schema therapy helps people understand and change long-standing patterns that developed earlier in life and continue to cause distress in the present. It focuses on identifying core beliefs and emotional needs, and developing healthier ways of coping and relating to others.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. Therapy doesn’t require a perfect starting point, just a willingness to explore whats been coming up and move forward at a pace that feels right. If you’re wondering whether therapy with me may be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation as a low-pressure way to briefly connect and see if working together feels like the right next step.
